Her signature is “SLOTFELDT”
She uses acrylic paints on canvas.
One may call her style “abstract expressionism”.

Irmelin’s art is a clear mirror of her nature, and the strongly poetic ideas in her mind are the first we also see in her paintings.

About Irmelin

Irmelin Slotfeldt was born (1933) and brought up in Oslo.

She studied art in Paris, Oslo and Rome. Her first showing was at Høstutstillingen (Oslo) in 1959, and her first solo exhibition at Kunstnerforbundet (Oslo) in 1960.

In 1960 she married Alberto Papafava dei Carraresi and moved to Italy. First to Rome, then Milan and finally Padua, her husband’s home town, where she now lives and works as a painter.

She has a large production, has been presented in a number of personal and collective exhibitions and is represented in museums and private art collections.
